Speaking at a press conference in Ibadan, the Director General of the coalition, Otunba Taiwo Adefarati, accused Julius Abure of leading thugs into the court premises to humiliate Apapa who is a yoruba elder.
Other members of the coalition present at the briefing are Lolade Johnson, Babalola Wole, Damilola Ajayi and Sunday Olajummy Sule, aming others.
The colation said, “We are aware that the former Chairman of Labour Party, Barr. Julius Abure has been stripped of his position following his gross management of party funds in the last presidential elections.
To have embezzled party funds is hard enough to deal with but to have led thugs to harrass and attack an elderly Yoruba man to the extent of removing his cap while he was acting as the National Chairman of the party is even more disappointing and a total insult to the Yoruba race.

“The youths of yoruba land will not sit and watch such adishonour happen, not yesterday, today, or tomorrow. We strongly believe in the institution of respect, honour, and dignity as dictated by our culture, which applies to every human existence where value applies, and this we will not trade for anything.”
They charged, “We, therefore, join our voices with that of our elders to call on HE Peter Gregory Obi, if he is truly representing Nigeria and treats the elders with respect as he claims, to immediately apologise to Pa Apapa within seven days without which the Yoruba Youths Coalition will occupy the office of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in Abuja.”
“We are strongly of the believe that you don’t sell your kinsmen cheaply and expect them to be purchased so expensively. If we must progress in unity, we must do the same, respecting one another,” the coalition added.
