WAR AGAINST CRIME: Police Parades 98 Suspected Thugs in Ekiti State…Retrieve Sophisticated Weapons, Charms

The Ekiti State Police command has paraded 98 suspected armed thugs who were arrested by men of the Nigerian Army for unlawful possession of firearms on Friday, 28th of January 2022 and were handed over to the police command.

It would be recalled that Control TV news earlier reported how some suspected armed thugs were arrested by men of the Nigerian Army on the eve of the PDP primary election which took place in the state capital, Ado Ekiti on Friday,28th of January 2022.


Addressing journalists, on Monday, 31st of January 2022, the Public Relations Officer,  Mr Sunday Abutu disclosed that a total of “98 armed thugs were intercepted at a checkpoint by men of the Nigerian Army on Friday, 28th January 2022 around Itawure, Efon axis and were subsequently handed over to the police command” 
while parading the suspects, at the Command headquarters at old Iyin road, Ado-Ekiti.

According to Mr Sunday, several sophisticated weapons like AK-47 rifles, live ammunitions, Pump actions, knives, cutlasses and substances suspected to be charms were recovered from the suspects.


While assuring citizens that the suspects have been arrested and would be charged to court for unlawful possession of fire arms, the Public Relations Officer insists that the command would leave no stone unturned in its fight against crime.
