The chairman Mayatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association Kaduna State Branch Haruna Tugga is calling for investigation into alleged killing of Inocent locals by the Army in Kachia local government area of Kaduna state.
His statement reads in full:
The MACBAN as an umbrella body of Fulbe in Nigeria has received with serious concern information via calls and other means ofcommunication from individuals, groups, media and govermment functionaries over allegations of extra judicial killings and incursion by some Nigerian Military personnel from the Nigerian Army School of Artillery (NASA) and the Nigerian Navy Armament Technology School all located at Kachia, headquarters of Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State into Tilde-Fulbe community and other communities within the Ladduga District, Kachia LGA of Kaduna State spanning three to four weeks ago and particularly on Saturday, 30M December, 2023, where killings, maiming, outright stealing and extortions were perpetrated by theNigerian Army against innocent, law abiding and peace loving residents of the said Fulbe communities.
The MACBAN, in order to substantiate the information, promptly called an emergency executive meeting of the association with a view to getting into the root of the matter and to find out the triggers, remote causes, perpetrators and names of the victims.
Arising from the emergency Executive Council meeting of MACBAN Kaduna State Chapter held on Wednesday 9th January, 2024 in Kaduna City, over the premeditated and systematic extrajudicial Killings of Fulbe youth currently being undertaken by some badly trained elements in the Nigerian Army with bad motive not only for the Ladduga Grazing Reserve but the entire peace in many other parts of the State like Giwa, Jema’a, Makarfi and otherLGAs of the state, the MACBAN on 11th January, 2024 dispatched some of its members on a fact finding mission to the affected areas and came up with the following findings.
Our Findings
The MACBAN fact finding team found as follows:

That about two (2) weeksago, the operatives of the of the Nigerian Army seized one young man by name SAFIYANU ADAMU, 22 years old, who was sick and being conveyed to the hospital by his biological father and other relations. After six (6)days in the custody of the officials ofNigerian Army, the dead body of the young Safiyanu was found in the bush.

Mallam Adamu Idris, the father of late Safiyanu, made a complaint at the Police station in Kachia. Having keenly listened to the complainant, the authorities of the police, after taking pictures of the lifeless body of the deceased Safiyanu and other information, ordered that the deceased be buried the same day according to the Islamic rite.
The said operatives of the Nigerian Army came back again to the village (Tilde Fulbe on the 30” day of December, 2023 at about 10am and perpetrated the following atrocities:
a) Theyshot and killed one NURA YUSUF at close range ni Crossing Katul Market in full glare of thousands of people in the market and dumped his lifeless body along with hismotorcycle in theirmilitary van and went away with it. Thereafter, his dead body was also found around Oduma Village of Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State about two (2) days after they demanded for the sum of Four Hundred Thousand naira (N400, 000.00) only from the deceased brother which sum was allegedly meant for his treatment, but they failed to call again after the brother insisted to hear the voice of the victim before he could give them themoney.
b) The trigger hungry military personnel also arrested four (4) young men from the same village and later shot and killed all of them in cold blood and dumped their lifeless bodies in the busharound Antai village in Kachia LGA along the road leading from Crossing to Maro of Kajuru LGA. ‘The already decomposed bodies of these innocent youth were recovered and buried by our members with the

help of the Nigerian Police on Monday, 8″ January, 2024 alongside one other person who was also arrested and killed in the same circumstance, therefore making the victims of the gruesome killing to five in number, they are:
i)
Magaji Umar a.k.a Nouru ii)
Akilu Abdullahi
Musa Abubakar
iv)
Ibrahim Sani
V) Abdulazeez Yusuf a.k.a Azeez
These innocent youths were killed ni spite of the fact that one of the Soldiers used the arrested young man’s phone to call the family and demanded for the sum of Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N300,000.00) only, for his release which release never materialized. The Soldier had even sent the following account details to the relations o f their victims as follows:

In the wake of all these atrocities, the representatives of this association were also
told that the military men broke and forcefully entered into two (2) houses in the
community and made away with physical cash of fifty thousand (N50,000.00), only in one of the houses and did away with ginger worth several thousands ofnaira from the other house.
On 7 January, 2024 the lifeless bodies of two other persons who were earlier arrested and remained in the custody of the same operatives of the Nigerian Army were recovered after they were killed and dumped along Angwan Makama Road, Kachia LGA. They are;

Furthermore, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of January, 2024, at about 1am, again, the operatives of the Nigerian Army returned to the same community and again entered into ‘four (4) houses and carted away with two (2) motorcycles and ginger worth several thousands of naira having thoroughly harassed its owners.
That another horrific incident occurred on the 2 1 day of December, 2023 when two young men within the age of 15 years were returning from Maulud Al-Nabiyyi

celebration held at Crossing Katul were shot and killed by the operatives of the Nigerian Army at close range. Their dead bodies were only released to their families’
for burial after Police intervention.
Gentlemen of the press, it may interest you to know that because of the frequent intrusion of the operatives of the Nigerian Army into the Tilde-Fulbe community, the entire people in the community and its environ live in fear and anxiety as to what may befall them the next minute, and as such, many of them can no longer sleep in their houses. They don’t know which compound the blood-thirsty soldiers would burgle next and or who they would kill to quench their reckless thirst for innocent
blood.
OUR APPEAL
.1 We cal for immediate intervention of his Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Governor of Kaduna State by immediately causing investigation into these killings by ensuring that all the erring military personnel involved in theperpetration of these heinous crimes against humanity are brought to book.
2. Compensation should be paid to the families of the victims of these crimes with a view to cushioning the hardship and trauma meted on them as a result of killing of their loved ones.
3. That posting of military and other security personnel should reflect the diversity of the environment more particularly on the ethno-religious angle to avoid any form of suspicion from either party among all citizens of Ladduga
