The Election is not over, the race is tightened in Biden Favour as the vote is tallied in a handful of states that would determine the outcome.
Since election day President Trump has alleged fraud without providing evidence, Filled lawsuit and called for a recount.
The race is coming down to close contest in five states, As mail-in and absentee votes are counted, the president [Trump] watched his slim advantage fade in must-win states Pennsylvania and Georgia.
Biden holds narrow leads in Nevada and Arizona, which is narrowing further in the southwestern state.
However, Trump is leading in North-Carolina. Thing is, Trump has to win the states where he’s still ahead, Plus either Arizona or Nevada to avoid becoming the first incumbent US president to lose a re-election bid since fellow Republican George H.W. Bush in 1992.
The counting and court challenges set the stage for days if not weeks of uncertainty before the electoral college meets on December 14th and the next president is sworn in on Jan. 20.
While Trump is pushing for the election to go to the supreme court, it turns out, the high court may not be the final arbiter.
Election law expert say it’s doubtful that courts would entertain a bid by Trump to stop the counting of ballots. Multiple trump lawsuits and a recount request would have to succeed and find in some cases tens of thousands of invalid ballots to reverse that result.
America is responding to the uncertainty as police in Portland have declared riots, arrested 11 people and seized fireworks, hammers and a rifle as Oregon’s Governor Kate Brown activated the National Gaurd.
In NewYork, Police said they have made about 50 protest-related arrests following the uncertainty of the election result. (Reuters)
