Some unknown Criminals suspected to be Armed Robbers have burgled some shops in the Ekiti State Ultra Market known as Fayose Market in Ado Ekiti and carted away with a property worth millions of naira.

The incident occurred around 1am, after the suspects broke the second gate of the Market and also looted a Safe worth one million naira and accessories worth millions of naira.
It was reported that the suspects were trailed by Rapid Response Squad(RRS) and the safe was recovered along Aramoko Road but, the valuables have been looted.
Speaking with the Press men today in Ado Ekiti, the President of the Market, Owa Babatunde said that the Suspects broke five shops alongside a safe which the market considered to be the safest.
He also said the Deputy Commissioner of Police has promised them a Hilux Vehicle ably manned by two security men that would be patrolling the market frequently.

He thereby called on the State government to provide a strong security network to assist the existing one in the market.
“The robbery happened around 1 am in the midnight yesterday. When they called me, I have to inform the Police especially, the RRS but before the RRS came, they have already left the market.”
“They broke five shops and the most important is our Safe which was bought with about 1million naira was stolen, that we believe is the most safest for people that is selling food in the market that when you have it, you have no problem. And later they found it along Aramoko Town.”
“In terms of government intervention, we need need security men here which the Deputy Commissioner of Police promised that he would give us one Hilux here, that will be patrolling all areas of the market; not all the time sometimes, maybe three times in a week or more than that he promised to give us two armed men join the security network we have here before.” He said.
To this end, all Traders in the market are ordered to vacate the market with an immediate effect to enable the Union to initiate damage control.
