Operatives of the Zamfara State Police Command have arrested two suspected vandals in Tsafe Local Government Area of the state.

Spokesperson of the command, SP Mohammed Shehu, in a statement on Wednesday May 4, said discreet investigation has commenced to further arrest the fleeing suspects for prosecution.
The two suspects, Mubarak Aliyu and Sani Ahmed, both 25, from Wanzamai Village were arrested following a distress call received from the Area Manager, Power Holding Company of Nigera, Tsafe branch, regarding the vandalisation of transformer and other electrical installations in Wanzamai Village, where large quantity of Aluminium conductor wire valued at about Eight Hundred Thousand Naira (N800, 000) were removed.

“DPO Tsafe acted on intelligence information and arrested the named suspects in possession with large quantity of melted Aluminium conductor wire. On interrogation, the suspects confessed to the offence and further mentioned their partners in crime now at large,” the statement read.
“The Command under the leadership of CP Ayuba N. Elkanah is applying various strategies to arrest the fleeing suspects and charge them to court for Prosecution.
“While the Command assures adequate Protection of Public and Private installations across the State, it advises members of the public to be vigilant and report any attempt to vandalise such equipment for prompt action.”
