The FCT Police commissioner Bala Chiroma has confirmed to Control TV that the fire which gutted the Treasury building in Abujs is being investigated.
“Though the fire is out with the combined efforts of the FCT fire service and others, investigations to establish the cause of the fire has commenced.”
While the course of the fire is unknown, casual workers say the fire started at the Assistant Directors office in the office of the Accountant General of the federation at about 10:25am of Wednesday.

The fire started on the 4th floor of the 5 story building.
No one has claimed responsibility for the incident.
Meanwhile Ohanize Ndigbo Youth Council World wide OYC has raise its suspicion over the incident saying it believe the incident is the mastermind of masketeers in an effort to conceal billions of Naira palliative funds for the fight against COVID-19.

The Igbo youth organisation allege that the fire was set to distrupt the stolen funds by some government official who benefited from the loot being investigated by the house of representatives.
The allegations are contained in a statement by the President General of the organisation Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and made available to Control TV.
