The Department of State Services (DSS) has released the convener of RevolutionNow Movement, Omoyele Sowore, from its custody.
He was released on Tuesday evening following an order to the DSS by Nigeria’s Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), for his freedom and that of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
Malami, in a statement, said the decision to release them was in compliance with the bail granted the duo by the Federal High Court.
He urged the two men to observe the terms of their bail and shun any act that would threaten public peace and national security.
Sowore had been in the secret police custody since August 3 when he was arrested over a nationwide protest he called for.
He was released temporarily on December 5 after 124 days in custody but rearrested at a Federal High Court in Abuja less than 24 hours after.
