Amusan came into the event against the world’s best hurdlers after a slow start to the 2023 season. She won the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica with a Season’s Best time of 12.57s three weeks ago and was getting back into her stride.
Despite looking a bit stiff, Amusan managed to finish in third place with a strong performance, improving her SB to 12.47s. She finished behind Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn (12.42s), who set a new Meet Record, and Tia Jones (12.44s) to place third in Ostrava.
Tobi Amusan will return to action on Friday at the Lausanne Diamond League, as she will continue her preparation towards launching a defence of the World title she won in 2022. She will come up against a quality field at the Diamond League, which she will be keen to retain once more.
