Not fewer than five officials of the Borno state government have been abducted by Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP), according to Daily Trust.

The newspaper stated that the victims were supervising the construction of Chibok-Damboa road when they were forcefully taken away on Wednesday, December 1.
It was gathered that the incident occurred near Wovi, a remote village in Chibok local government area of the northeastern state.
An anonymous source was also cited in the report as saying that one of the abducted staff, a driver, escaped.
A top state official whose name was not revealed equally confirmed the incident.
“Yes, it is so sad and we are worry about this latest developments. “The abductions came as a shocker to us. I can confirm to you that they were abducted this morning.”
