The Former Governor of the Central Bank Of Nigeria CBN Professor Chukwuma Solido has been attacked by Gunmen who killed 3 of his aids in the attack.
The former (CBN) boss who has nursed a political ambition since 2019 only recently restated his desire to be the governor of aanambra State in the countries east.
The governorship elections comes up later in November as the electoral umpire prepares to conclude staggered election who are off the election timetable.
The Ex CBN Governor was reportedly attacked in Isuofia community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Three policemen among the security aides attached to Soludo were shot dead in the attack.
DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, Police Public Relations Officer in the State, confirmed the attack but decline further comments.
This is the latest in the campaign of violence on security agents in the Southern part of the country.
Earlier in March, gunmen invaded a bus conveying some suspects to court in Anambra and killed a prison warder and other people.
The tragic incident happened in Aguata LGA as well.
On Sunday, Frank Mba, Police Force Public Relations Officer, announced that some members of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) were arrested over the murder of security operatives. The case is currently being investigated.
