Salihu Yakasai, a Special Adviser (Media) to Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has called for the resignation of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.
He was reacting to the early morning abduction of several students of Government Secondary School (GSS), Jangebe, Zamfara State, by gunmen suspected to be bandits.
He took to his official twitter account where he accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of failing Nigerians in its number one duty to secure lives and properties.

Yakasai, better known as Dawisu, therefore, called on the Buhari-led government to deal with terrorists decisively or resign.
“Clearly, we as APC government, at all levels, have failed Nigerians in the number 1 duty we were elected to do which is to secure lives & properties,” he tweeted.
“Not a single day goes by without some sort of insecurity in this land. This is a shame! Deal with terrorists decisively or resign.”
This is not the first time Yakasai will be calling out the Buhari-led government for its “failure”.

In October 2020, at the height of the #EndSARS protests against police brutality, he accused Buhari of being insensitive to the plight of Nigerians.
The action earned Yakasai a suspension as Ganduje’s media aide. The Kano State government described his comments as “unguarded utterances”.
He was reinstated to his post later that month.
The Zamfara abductions come some eight days after gunmen kidnapped dozens of students and workers of Government Science College in Kagara, Niger State. They remain in captivity despite several assurances of their release from state and federal officials.
Bandits had also last year abducted over 300 schoolboys from Government Science Secondary School in Kankara, Katsina State.
Apart from Kankara and Kagara, non-state actors had, in the past, kidnapped hundreds of secondary school girls from Chibok, in Borno State; and Dapchi in Yobe State, both in the northeastern part of the country where terrorism is most prevalent.
