Despite the ban on #EndSARS protest in Rivers State, youths on Tuesday converged opposite Pleasure Park in Port Harcourt for the march against police brutality.
Governor Nyesom Wike had placed a ban on the protest, saying its aim of having the notorious police unit the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) scrapped had already been achieved.
The protesters, however, lamented that youths cannot continue to be killed by the police.
Some of the placards they held read “EndSARS”, “We are tired of dying”, and “Protest is our right”.
A policeman at the scene of the protest appealed to the youths to be peaceful.
