Paul Pogba has privately urged Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele to join Manchester United, according to reports in Spain.
With Borussia Dortmund standing firm over their €120 million (£109.6m) asking price for Jadon Sancho, United are now exploring alternative solutions to strengthen the right side of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attack.
Dembele is on United’s shortlist and the club are keen on signing the 23-year-old on loan with an option to buy. However, reports have claimed that Dembele’s preference is to remain at Barcelona having struggled to make an impact since he joined from Borussia Dortmund in a £135.5m deal in 2017.
But Mundo Deportivo reports that Pogba has personally called Dembele in an attempt to persuade him to make the move to Old Trafford.
The report claims that Pogba supports United’s push to sign Dembele and believes the French winger could become a key part of Solskjaer’s side
