The Katsina State Police Command has busted a human trafficking syndicate and rescued twelve victims in Daura Local Government Area of the state.

Spokesperson of the command, SP Gambo Isah, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday May 4, said the victims were rescued following a credible intelligence.
Isah said the victims were about being ferried to the Niger Republic on their way to Libya when the police team stormed the house where they were accommodated in the village.

“On 02/05/2022 at about 1230hrs, based on credible intelligence, the Command carried out a sting operation, at a suspected location, in a dwelling house of one Yahaya Dahiru, ‘M’ of Kalgo village, Daura LGA of Katsina state,” he stated.
The police rescued the following victims: Madinat Adekeje, ‘F’, aged 39yrs of Kwara state, Aminat Kazeem, ‘F’, aged 25yrs of Oyo state, Orobore Francis, ‘M’, aged 21yrs of Edo state, Mike Emuagbon, ‘M’, aged 22yrs of Edo state, and Oladoke Uhunoma, ‘F’, aged 33yrs of Edo state.
Others are Elizabeth Idemudia, ‘F’, aged 16yrs of Edo state, Fatima Ibrahim, ‘F’, aged 25yrs of Osun state, Elizabeth Egbayelo, ‘F’, aged 32yrs of Ondo state, Olawale Oyindamola, ‘F’, aged 19yrs of Ondo state, Victoria Chidi, ‘F’, aged 14yrs of Ondo state, Folashayo Oluwabunmi, ‘F’, aged 30yrs of Ogun state and Suliyat Omotayo, ‘F’, aged 25yrs of Ogun state.
“The Command is making effort to arrest the owner of the house one Yahaya Dahiru, ‘M’, of Kalgo village, Daura and their driver, one Mas’udu Dusha, ‘M’, of Yankara village, Mai’addua. Suspects will be handed over to National Agency for the Prohibition of trafficking of persons (NAPTIP).” the PPRO added.
