PDP Northern leaders consensus meeting has been stalled due to the absence of some stakeholders.

The closed door meeting held by the PDP northern committee was meant to trim down the numbers of candidates contesting for the chairmanship and other positions in the forthcoming national convention of the peoples democratic party is currently holding at the Bauchi governor’s Lodge in Asokoro.

According to Chairman of the convention organizing committee, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, the meeting has been adjourned till Thursday, 14th of October for further consultation due to the absence of some stakeholders.

A similar meeting by the north central caucus of the party also held yesterday, where they Chose Professor Iyorchia Ayu as a consensus candidate for the chairmanship slot in the October 30th/31st convention.
PDP leaders from the north had agreed on Thursday to set up a 20 man committee that will streamline the numbers of contestants from each of the zones in the region ahead of the party’s national convention.
