However in a statement signed by his media aide, Laolu Akande, the vice president denied the report describing it as fake news and misleading.
Dr Emeka Kalu, the National Publicity Secretary of PDP Youth Alliance (PDPYA) said while speaking to newsmen on Wednesday that Osinbajo should step down in order to allow a comprehensive probe.
Mr Emeka also called for the resignation of Yakubu Mahmoud, Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to Mr Emeka, Mahmoud must resign over an alleged plan to rig the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
