Journalists were prevented from covering the Ekiti north Senatorial district primary Election of the All progressives Congress as Security agents said they acted on the instruction of the head of electoral committee Mr. Segun Dipe who is the publicity secretary of the party APC in Ekiti state.

When confronted, Mr Dipe agreed to have issued the instruction without consultation with committee members daring Journalists to do their worst.
At the end of the exercise, Cyril Fasuyi defeated the incumbent Senator, Olubunmi Adetumbi representing Ekiti north in the national assembly to clinch the ticket at the primary election held in Ifaki Ekiti.
Attempts by Political thugs to distrupt the exercise was rebuffed by security operatives.
Other APC aspirants that clinched senatorial tickets are Senator Opeyemi Bamidele representing Ekiti central Senatorial District and Yemi Adaramodu, for Ekiti South both elected unopposed.
Senator Opeyemi Bamidele stressed that the honour of being returned unopposed would further propel him for effective and more rewarding representation for his people.
