Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has contracted the novel coronavirus.
Akeredolu confirmed his status on his verified twitter handle. He said he got confirmation of a positive result for COVID- 19 on Tuesday morning.
In a video attached to the tweet, Akeredolu said he took the COVID-19 test after being treated for malaria.

The governor explained that he was advised to take the COVID-19 test by a governor at the All Progressives Congress National Executive Council meeting held on Thursday in Abuja.
Akeredolu said he is still very strong to continue working from home where he is self- isolating
