The lawmaker representing Ondo east/west in the house of representatives, Peter Makinde has defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and joined the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
The Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila at the plenary session on Tuesday read the letter of his defection.
He cited leadership crisis and division within his party as the reason for defection.

Makinde’s defection brings to three the number of lawmakers that have defected to the APC within two plenary sessions.
Last Tuesday, two lawmakers from the green chamber also joined the APC.
Blessing Onuh, the lawmaker representing Otukpo/Ohimini federal constituency, defected from the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) to the APC.
Also, Yakubu Abdullahi, the member representing Bauchi federal constituency, dumped the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) for APC.
