The Nigerian Navy rescue teams have averted what would have been a desaster as materials and personal of INEC were saved from drowning earlier today.
A deputy director of the commission has said all it’s staff involved are safe and the elections are still in progress.
He also said there is no plan to disenfranchise voters one hour to the official close of voting exercise in Ondo State.
Saying the guideline set by the commission concerning votes is that areas where materials got in late will continue untill everyone designated to the particular polling unit cast their votes.
The accreditation and voting process has gone on smoothly at Akure North which has 12 polling units according to voters there.
