The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 1,131 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19, in Nigeria.
This was contained in the centre’s daily update on Wednesday.
The NCDC said 1,192 infected persons were discharged following their recovery.
It added that the discharges included 773 community recoveries in Lagos State and 66 community recoveries in Imo State managed in line with guidelines.

But 8 new deaths were recorded from COVID-19 complications.
According to the NCDC, the new cases on Wednesday were detected in 21 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos accounted for 297 infections while the FCT reported 194.
Also, Kaduna State recorded 83 new cases while Kano State reported 59.
Others are from Oyo (58), Taraba (53), Imo (52), Osun (47), Plateau (45), Edo (43), Akwa Ibom (42), Rivers (42), Ogun (29), Kwara (24), Benue (21), Nasarawa (16), Ekiti (7), Bauchi (6), Delta (6), Bayelsa (4), Sokoto (2), and Gombe (1).

The NCDC also disclosed that Nigeria has now recorded a total of 142,578 infections.
While 116,947 cases have recovered, 1,702 have died from complications.
