Nigerian Police Arrest 7 Robbers, Soldier Responsible For Bullion Van Attack In Ebonyi

Nigerian Police has arrested 7 bank robbers including a dismissed soldier responsible for attacking a bullion van and Killing of 4 policemen at Ezzambo Junction in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The Armed Robbers had trailed the bullion van said to belong to a commercial bank and was carrying a huge sum of money from an undisclosed location to Abakaliki, the state capital, before launching an attack.

In the Arrest statement seen by Control TV, The Nigerian Police revealed that During a serious Manhunt by IRT Detectives with technical Intelligence Support from TIU arrested one Alfred Robinson [45] on the 1st of August, 2020 in Asaba, Delta state and subsequently recovered a Toyota 4 runner, aK47 Rifles, rounds of live ammunition, Among other.

During intensive Follow Up 6 more Gangmembers were arrested by IRT Detectives within 24hrs. The Gangmembers arrested in the follow-up are; Sunday Soyemu M [46], SGT Ayeni Samuel [43], Emeka Harrison [33], Emeka Illo [37], Abuchi Elijah [27] and Ibanifiroi Ekiene [38].

Items Recovered From the 6 armed robbers are; Lexus 350 jeep which contained N130,000, Twelve locally made bombs, big hammers, Big cutter, charms, Angle Grinder, Among Others.

All suspects upon interrogation by the police confessed to the Bullion Van Robbery in Ebonyi State where 4 police men were killed.

They also admitted to have executed Many other Armed Robberies/Kidnappings across the South east and South-South.

The Suspects Also revealed that 4 out of the Rifles recovered belongs to the Police men they killed during the Bullion Van Robbery in Ebonyi State.

The Nigerian Police also revealed that the apprehended suspect are cooperating and assisting them in the investigation and to arrest other gang members.
