Nigeria on Sunday, January 24, 2021, recorded 964 new COVID-19 infections, which takes the total confirmed cases in the country to 121,566.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the fresh cases were recorded in 18 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The Centre for Disease Control further disclosed that 2 persons died of COVID-19 complications while 1,327 persons recovered and were discharged from various isolation centres across the country on Sunday.

“Our discharges today includes 774 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.”
Giving a breakdown of the figure on a State-by-State basis, NCDC said Lagos State recorded 360
infections, FCT-88 cases, Ogun-73, while Imo reported 72.
Others are; Kaduna (67), Plateau (57), Abia (41), Osun (41), Rivers (32), Kano (26), Niger (24), Benue (23), Edo (20), Cross River (20), Akwa Ibom (8), Nasarawa (6), Zamfara (6), Ekiti (6) and Jigawa (4).
Currently, Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases stand at 121,566; 97,228 recoveries and 1,504 deaths.
