Director-general of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control Chikwe Ihekweazu, has expressed grief over the death of Ondo state commissioner for health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro.
Control TV earlier reported that Adegbenro died at the age of 65 on Thursday, July 2, of complications from Covid-19 infection.
The commissioner was said to have been battling Covid-19 but efforts of the state health operatives proved futile as the commissioner passed on.
Source from the government quarter claimed that the late commissioner died at the Federal Medical Center, Owo.

Speaking on the late commissioner’s death, the NCDC DG said Adegbenro will be fondly remembered for his contribution to the health sector.

“Very sad to hear of the death of my brother and colleague, Honourable Commissioner for Health in Ondo state Dr. Wahab Adegbenro We will remember him fondly, especially for his leadership in strengthening Ondo State’s response to annual Lassa fever outbreaks,”
