Violent protest erupted at the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Headquarters in Benin City, Edo State leading to the death of 3 at the scene of the protest, which occured on Wednesday.

In a video obtained by Control TV, the protesters, wielding sticks, stones and other weapons attacked and destroyed a First Bank Branch in the area before heading to the CBN branch with the intention to wreck havoc.
Meanwhile, soldiers in military vehicles responded by releasing teargas cannisters and firing gunshots to disperse the protesters.
