Controversial Nigerian singer, Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley has been arraigned before an Abuja mobile court for flouting COVID-19 rules.
The FCT Administration filed a four-count charge against him for hosting a concert in Abuja, in clear violation of COVID-19 directives on June 13, flouting the presidential ban on Interstate travels and public gatherings.
However, Naira Marley pleaded guilty to the charges and the presiding magistrate Idayat Akanni, handed down a N200,000 fine with a public apology in any national newspaper.
Naira Marley left Lagos for the Federal Capital Territory for a concert on July 13 at Jabi Lake Mall, drawing public outrage. The airline which flew him and the mall were penalised.
