President of the Senate Senator Ahmed Lawan on Tuesday said the people of Yobe his home state gave him full support that saw him emerge as the President of the 9th Senate in Nigeria..
SP Lawal was speaking during a visit to Yusufari Jakusko and Bade local government areas.
In a media statement Senator Lawal said the people prayed and fasted for him to be elected into the office of the President of the Senate and he is happy the prayers were answered for the good of everyone.
He thanked the people of Yobe especially the Governor and the former governor as well as all members of the All Progressive Congress APC in the state.
Senator Ahmed Lawal has asked the people of Yobe and by extension Nigerians to continue to pray for the success of the National assembly especially the Senate for optimal performance.
He also reiterates the resolve of the 9th Senate to work with the President Muhammadu Buhari to deliver on the promises it made during its campaign.
Senator Lawal said he believes that with the support he has from his colleagues, the 9th Senate is set to perform better to improve the wellbeing of Nigerians than previous Senate’s.
