Former Central Bank Governor Professor Charles Soludo has said that Nigeria needs a New Social Order for meaningful progress.
The former CBN Governor made the submission at a webinar organised by Redeem Christian Church of God RCCG Liberty Court in Lagos.
Professor Soludo also said it is upon the citizenry to demand for change from the political class; failure of which the status-quo will persist.
He also said the country must be mindful that short tenure for politicians coupled with weak institutions will never result in visionary leadership. He said the Status-quo becomes bliss when the citizens do not protest wrong conduct in the society.
Professor Soludo also enjoined the Clergy to preach the word of God according to how the Bible puts it and not to validate ill gotten wealth from people whose source or wealth can’t be accounted for.
Transactional rather than transformational leadership has now become the norm according to him. Professor Soludo in his speech decried the what he terms hide and seek games being played by public officials on law enforcement agencies while the citizens rejoice or morn depending on who is being prosecuted along religious or ethnic lines.
He insist that Enterprise and hardwork should be the barometer for value creation and wealth creation.
He made reference to the book of Thesolonian Chapter 3 verse 10 that says the one who is not willing to work shall not eat.
