Fireworks are lighting up the political space in Kogi ahead of the Gubernatorial elections next month.
The enlarged Political family of Late Prince Abubakar Audu is spitting fire saying its entire followers both within and outside the state, did not assent to latest moves by James Abiodun Faleke; the deputy goverrnorship candidate to late political sage in the 2015 election, over his decision to work for the re-election of Governor Yahaya Bello, in the Kogi governorship election.
The late political leader’s dynasty, says on no account will there be a correlation between the late sage political associates and Honourable James Abiodun Faleke’s belated decisions ,whom they say was picked as a running mate after the election of Prince Abubakar Audu that year.
The Prince Abubakar Audu political family in a statement issued and signed on behalf of the family by Dr. Odekina Abutu said the existence of the political icons dynasty predates the affiliaition between Faleke and the family, hence cannot inherit the large political empire of the family.
He debunked the claim by James Abiodun faleke or the public notion that the reconcilliation brokered between the Kogi governor, was on behalf of the Audu/ Faleke faction of APC,saying he is on his own and entitled to his political decsions.
According to the spokesman, it will be a complete political misjudgement to link Faleke’s political overture and ressolution to that of the legend Audu’s political dynasty, which spans over three decades of democratic practice.
He said Late Prince Abubakar Audu, who twice was governor of Kogi state between 1991-1993,and 1999-2003,does not need any political surrogate to advocate for it’s political future and decisions.
He wondered why Hon James Abiodun Faleke who was co-opted as a Lagos representative from Ikeja and Lagos politician, to deputise the late former Governor, could usurp out of his political wisdom, the large political empire of Prince Abubakar Audu without due consultation.
The Audu political family enjoined the general public and the large political family of the sage, to disregard such undeserved and misleading statements from Hon James Abiodun Faleke.
Dr Odekina said in no distant time, the former political leader’s dynasty, will make public the decision of the camp and direction towards the next Kogi goverrnorship election in November.
He advised late Prince Abubakar Audu loyalists to remain calm, steadfast as a decision that will go down well with the generalty of the people, will soon be reach to the loyal followers, who believed strongly in the political leadership of the former goverrnor, during and after his demise.
