Real Madrid forward Benzema has been voted the best player of the just concluded La Liga season according to fans as the Frenchman scored 21 goals to help Real Madrid win their first title in three years.
Benzema scored 21 goals in the league to lead his side to the title, with the Frenchman picking up 37% of the votes as compared to Messi who received 31% of the votes. Los Blancos skipper, Sergio Ramos meanwhile rounded up the top three, picking up 14% of the votes.
Messi ended the 2019/20 season with 25 goals to his name which ensured that he won a record seventh Pichichi trophy while also registering a league record 21 assists, breaking the record set by former Catalan team-mate, Xavi Hernandez.
