The Federal Governments Palliative ordered By President Muhammadu Buhari to be sent to Kano State as part of measures to ensure the Containment of COVID-19 in the state and by extension the North have reached the State capital.
The Palliatives distributed through the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs is being coordinated by the National Emergency Management Agency in Kano.
Accordingbto the Head of NEMA in the state Mallam Sanusi Ado while receiving the deliveries along side the Executive Secretary of Kano State Emergency Management Agency Dr Saleh Jili, the Palliatives will be distributed to the poorest of the poor in line with the recommendation of the President through the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq.
The food reserve where the items are being evacuated are in: Minna, Dutsinma, Yola, Gusau and Lafiya.
The items include bags of maize, Rice, millets, sorghum.
Mallam Sanusi further enjoined citizens of Kano; one of the worst hit states in the country to obey the guidelines against coronavirus set by the NCDC in an effort to contain the spread in Kano.
