Barely four days after the it was attacked by gunmen suspected to be bandits, the Abolongo Correctional Facility located in Oyo town, Oyo State suffered an explosion on Tuesday.
It was gathered that the explosion which caused panic among residents of the area occurred outside the prison facility.
According to reports, the bomb which exploded was one of those planted by the gunmen during the Friday attack which refused to go off.
However, no casualties have been recorded and security operatives have paid a visit to the scene to assess the extent of the damage.
Recall that Control TV had earlier reported how the prison was attacked by some unknown gunmen at the late hours of Friday.

According to reports, the gunmen attacked the facility with explosives around 10.30pm and set the inmates free.
The incident which happened was said to have led to the escape of inmates of the faculty It was gathered that no fewer than 837 inmates were said to have escaped after heavily-armed men attacked the correctional center with explosives. However, over 400 out of the fleeing prisoners have recaptured by the security operatives.
