Despite dominating the game from the first half, super Eagles found themselves trailing by a goal down after an impressive run by Youssef Nsakni running past Ola Aina and Wilfred Ndidi before setting himself up to blast an unstoppable shot past the Nigerian Goal keeper, Maduka Okoye in the 47th minute.

Nigeria suffered another blow in the 64th minute as Alex Iwobi who had just come in as replacement for Kelechi Ihanacho got sent off after a harsh challenge on Youssef Nsakni’s ankle. Despite issuing Iwobi a yellow card, the decision was overruled after a lengthy VAR review.

The ref showed Iwobi a straight red for the challenge, leaving Nigeria a goal down and also, a man down.

Tunisia saw out the rest of the game despite super eagles relentless efforts to draw level.

The referee blows the final whistle which brings heartbreak for super Eagles and joy for the Tunisian faithfuls.
