JUST IN: Gunmen Kill Three, Kidnap HYPPADEC Board Member, Salami In Kogi

A board member of the Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC), Alhaji Isah Ozi Salami, has been kidnapped in his country home in Ogaminana Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Salami was kidnapped on Thursday morning on his to the mosque.

A source told DAILY POST that the kidnappers came with a vehicle parked close to the victim’s residence and zoomed off with the old man at about 5 am.

An eyewitness, Ilyas Okaraga, disclosed that another person was also shot by the gunmen.

A family member of the victim said in an attempt to save him from the gunmen, a young man was also shot but was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Salami was said to have commissioned a water project in Adavi on Wednesday before he was kidnapped on Thursday morning.

Also on Wednesday night, gunmen killed three occupants of a car along the Federal College of Education road in Otite.

One of the occupants reportedly escaped by the whiskers, while three others were killed by the gunmen.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Kogi State, SP William Ovye Aya, confirmed the kidnapping of Alhaji Isah Ozi Salami on Thursday.

“The Police in collaboration with local vigilantes, hunters, and other security agencies have launched a manhunt to ensure the release of the kidnapped victim,” he said.

He, however, said the command has not gotten any report concerning the incident in Otite.
