The Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, has lost his father, Abraham Diri.
The circumstances surrounding his death were unknown as of the time of filing this report.

A statement signed by Jothan Diri on behalf of the Diri Family of Kalama-Owei Wari in Sampou Community in the Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, said Pa Diri passed on aged 88 years.
Pa Diri was a retired Headmaster, Christian and a man of exemplary humility.
Funeral arrangements, according to the family will be announced in due course.
