At least five suspected kidnappers have been reportedly shot dead in Ughoshi-Afe, Akoko local government during a gunbattle with the operatives of police in Edo state.

The kidnappers reportedly met their waterloo after they abducted Mr Innocent Sunday, forcing the local vigilante and police officers to comb the bush to rescue him.
It was gathered that the rescuers had an encounter leading to a gun exchange.
Five of the suspected kidnappers were killed while Mr Innocent was rescued unhurt, it was learnt.
Police recovered two locally made pistols, charms and live cartridges at the scene.
Edo state Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro, again assured that hard times await kidnappers, armed Robbers and other perpetrators of heinous criminal activities in Edo state.
