Indianapolis police have identified the gunman who killed eight people and wounded several others on Thursday night, at FedEx Ground facility as a 19-year-old who was a former employee.
Deputy Chief Craig McCartt on Friday identified the gunman as Brandon Hole who was last employed by FedEx in 2020.

McCartt said Hole was also found dead of a gunshot wound that appeared to be self-inflicted.
He stated that Indianapolis police found Hole’s name in two past incident reports. Although no information was given about the first report, but details he described from a 2020 report align with the FBI statement.
In March 2020, Hole’s mother had earlier reported to FBI’s Indianapolis office that he might attempt “suicide by cop.” A Special Agent, Paul Keenan who was put in charge said Hole was placed on an immediate mental health temporary hold by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD).

Keenan who said a shotgun was seized at Hole’s residence, said, “Based on items observed in the suspect’s bedroom at that time, he was interviewed by the FBI in April 2020,” the statement said. “No Racially Motivated Violent Extremism (RMVE) ideology was identified during the course of the assessment and no criminal violation was found. The shotgun was not returned to the suspect.”
IMPD released the names of the eight deceased victims: Matthew R. Alexander, 32; Samaria Blackwell, 19; Amarjeet Johal, 66; Jaswinder Kaur, 64; Jaswinder Singh, 68; Amarjit Sekhon, 48; Karli Smith, 19; and John Weisert, 74.
However, the names of those injured were not being released.
The Police stated that the mass shooting is the country’s deadliest since 10 people were killed on March 22 at a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado.
