Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, has been impeached while his former Deputy Oludaisi Elemide has been appointed the new speaker.
Oluomo was reelected in June 2023 after a week of tension over the seat, following a challenge from the erstwhile deputy Speaker Elemide
Both lawmakers are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which holds 17 of the 26 seats in the House, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) make up the remaining nine members
