Residence of the estate are demanding an immediate end to what they say is an illegality meted on them by Ikeja Electric (ie) where charges have doubled from just over 20k monthly to 54k monthly.
The 100% increase however affects residents who are not captured under the MAP system.
ControlTV in an in-depth investigation found out that the estate has over the past 3 years been subjected to illegal increases in their electricity charges and payments higher than other estates within the area.
In a chat with the pubic affairs head of ie Mr. Felix Ofulue, the number of hours determines the bill.
He also insists that residence whose electricity hours has not been met should complain strongly to the (ie) office covering their jurisdiction.
IE has called on the management of IHESA association for talks to address the increase and avoid a face off.
