Veteran Nollywood sensation Ali Nuhu in recent interview disclosed why he stopped kissing and hugging in Nigerian movies.
Nuhu who has featured in several movies of the Hausa and English genre said he stopped kissing and hugging in movies due to his religion.
According to him Islam as a religion prohibits the act of kissing or hugging.
In his words, ”I come from the north, and I’m a Muslim. My culture and religion does not allow for that, so I stopped acting in scenes like that. People talk about it all over but I personally think it out as an ambassador of my culture and religion and stopped,”.
Born on the 15th March, 1974 Nuhu Mohammed refered to as the king of “Kannywood” or “sarki” by media in the North maintains a high and respected profile in the region. Ali has also featured in more than 500 movies both Nollywood and Kannywood films and has earned numerous accolade.
The Nollywood and Kannywood star while celebrating his anniversary from way back in 2019, said “It hasn’t been easy in the last 20 years, but thanks to Allah, it has been possible. I appreciate all my friends, colleagues and family who have been there for me all through. To everyone who celebrates me you mean alot to me and may Allah grant me a way to pay back,”.
Nuhu Ali has been active in the industry since 1999 till date. He is happily married with two kids.
