Nigerian Professional footballer and Captain of the national team Ahmed Musa has opened up on his Epic journey to stardom and the challenges he faced
The footballer opened up on how he started his career as a goalkeeper while in primary school and made their games perfect because he was good at the position.
Musa later on discovered how good he was as an outfield player, His pace and skill on the pitch was graceful; That it didn’t take long before he was discovered by Nigerian Professional League NPL which afterwards he joined JUTH.
Musa’s rise to stardom came when he joined Kano Pillars on loan, He then went on to become the first player to break the deadlock of scoring 18 goals in 2009-2010 season in the NPFL.
In a recent interview he had on instagram live, Musa stated;
”Yes, I enjoyed the role. In primary school, i was the game prefect and I was one of the best goalkeepers in the school”.
”I signed my professional contract here in Abuja but couldn’t travel because i was 17 then i had to wait until i was 18”.
”when i flew to holland i was crying and playing because of the cold. One day i said to myself i can’t make it and need to go back to Nigeria, but we Africans have one mentality that whatever you do you can achieve it”
”I told myself i had to deal with it, while my agent ensured me that with time I’ll get used to it”
Musa Has 91 caps for Super Eagles and has featured in two world cups for Nigeria both 2014 and 2018 where he was the standout player in the competition
He was also part of the Nigerian team that won the African Cup of Nations in South Africa.
