The winners for the 15th Headies Awards were unveiled in Atlanta, United States, on Sunday, September 4, 2022, with Wizkid bagging multiple awards.

with a diverse group of nominees and winners from Nigeria, the rest of Africa and the United States.
The award, which boasted of diverse group of nominees and winners from Nigeria, Africa and the United States, went global for the first time ever and honoured artistes and music executives like Efe Omorogbe, 2Baba’s manager, Sunday Are, Wizkid’s manager and Bose Ogulu, Burna Boy’s mother and manager received the Special Recognition Award. Akon and Wyclef Jean received the International Special Recognition Awards, while D’Banj received the Special Recognition Award for Talent.
Angelique Kidjo was also inducted into the Headies Hall of Fame.
The event was hosted by AMVCA 2022 Best Actress of the Year, Osas Ighodaro and American actor Anthony Andersen and broadcast live on HipTV.

Featuring performances from Adekunle Gold, BNXN, Fireboy DML, D’banj, Ladipoe, K-Cee, Flavour, among others, majority of the awards were handed out during the live show while others were announced on Headies’ official social media pages.
Wizkid, represented by his Manager Sunday Are, took home the most awards at the 15th Headies including Album of the Year, Best Afrobeat Album, Song of the Year and Best R&B Single for ‘Essence’.
Burna Boy was named Best Male Artiste and African Artiste of the Year, Pantoranking won Best Reggae R&B Dancehall Album and Recording of the Year, while Davido won the Digital Artiste of the Year and Humanitarian Award of the Year.
Other winners include Tems – Best R&B Album of the Year, Ayra Starr – Headies’ Viewers Choice, Fireboy DML – Best Afrobeats Single Of The Year.
Adekunle Gold won an award for the best songwriter of the year, after seven years of winning his last Headies Award with his first single ‘Sade’ in 2015.
Daniel ‘BNXN‘ Benson formerly known as Buju took home the highly coveted Next Rated award which also comes with a 2022 Bentley Bentayga.
