Ondo State Governor Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu has met with President Muhammadu Buhari inside the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
Mr Akeredolu who is seeking a second term faces many obstacles from some members of the party, both within and outside the state.
His candidature is mainly been opposed by Bola Tinubu, who is the APC National Chairman and also considered the most influential APC leader in South-west of Nigeria.
The President’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad on his Twitter handle said that Akeredolu met with President Buhari to disclose his intention for his reelection.

After his meeting Akeredolu spoke to State House reporters on Tuesday saying the meeting is to informed President Buhari that he is running for re-election.
He Said:
“On the forthcoming election, you need to go to Ondo; I know that we have done more than enough. We are in the heart of the people of Ondo state, we don’t need ‘Amotekun’ to be in the hearts of the people.
“You need to go there, by the grace of God, not our calling but for what God has enabled us to do in Ondo state is there for you to see.”
This meeting with Mr Buhari comes few days after the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki had a meeting with the president; However Mr Obaseki announced his resignation from the party on Tuesday.
