The Chiroma of Gaya emirate in KANO state has been named the New Emir Of The Emirate Following the death of his father.
The Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje appointed Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim-Gaya as the new Emir of Gaya.
Secretary to the State Government, Usman Alhaji announced the appointment in a statement today.
Until his appointment, Ibrahim Gaya was holding the title, Chiroman Gaya.
Ibrahim-Gaya is succeeding his late father, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir who died after a protracted illness.
He was 91 years old when he passed on to greater glory.
Usman said, “Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, by the power conferred on him by the Kano Emirate law 2020 as amended has approved the appointment of Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim-Gaya as the new Emir of Gaya.
The appointment followed the recommendation by the Gaya Emirate Kingmakers after the presentation of three candidates from them,the Governor appointed Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya as the new Emir.”
