General Overseer Of The Living Faith Church Popularly called Winners chapel, Pastor David Oyedepo has doubled his fist as he threatened that fire will fall if churches were shut down again.
Nigerian Government had earlier called for all places of worship to be shut down, due to the rise of Covid-19 in the country.
Pastor Oyedepo who didn’t like the idea has many times called for the reopening of worship places as he earlier lamented saying For people to be allowed to be in the market for six hours and can’t be in church for two hours, it’s an upside-down way of looking at things.
However, in recent development, Oyedepo, who is one of Nigeria’s mega-church pastors with a global following has said Fire will fall if churches were to be put on hold again.
He said:
“I know the world will come to a point where we’ll say we are being fooled cause the that is deceiving the world, he has the capacity to deceive the whole world.”
“Thank God we are not fooled, Thank God we have not been fooled, Thank God he made us smarter than our enemies. it is only here they will lay hands on coronavirus patients and then walk free and heal them straight.”
“Could they have asked me in person, Should we shut down church? can anybody ask me that question? No… They know where to ask, They know who to call. there are many pastors like that in this country, you can’t dare them. Did you close down Occult houses? the Ogboni houses? Did you close them down? Don’t you go there yourself ?,” He asked
“The next time anybody tries that, Fire will Fall,” He said
The president’s Covid-19 directives and guidelines on the 27th of April, were adopted by various state governors, and places of worship across Nigeria are yet to be reopened in line with social distancing protocols.
