UPDATED: Fire Outbreak At Mile 2 As Tanker Goes Up in Flames

A Tanker conveying petrol at the the Alaba axis of oshodi Apapa expressway around Mile 2 Estate has caught Fire.

Control TV gathered that the incident occurred around 1:30am this morning.

Residents in the area took to various Social media platforms to call for help and express concern for their lives and proprieties as petrol laden trunks continued to burn.


As at the time of filing this report First responders such as fire-service had not arrived the scene despite the fact that the fire has been raging for a while.

However, Concerned residents have taken the situation into their hands as they garner together to put out the fire at about 2:30am.

Despite their efforts proprieties around the axis have been lost.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has also not given a report on the incident.

UPDATE!!!

Fuel Tanker inferno at LACASERA outwards Mile 2 Oke and FATGBEMS Fuel Station, Apapa- Oshodi Expressway;

Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has announced that it received a distress calls concerning the above which occurred around 0100hrs and activated its emergency response plan.

DG/ CEO Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu of LASEMA noted that On arrival, it was discovered that a fuel tanker loaded with PMS had overturned and burst into flames due to the oil spillage.

This in turn affected some stationary trailers parked inwards Apapa.
A combined team comprising Lagos Fire, Police ,Federal Fire and Agency Responders have extinguished the flames.
Operation to remove the affected vehicles is ongoing while road users are encouraged to use alternative routes.
