The Accountant General of the Federation Alhaji Ahmed Idris has stated that the implementation of the Treasury Single Account [TSA] recently introduced by the Buhari administration has saved over N4Billion on a daily basis for the Nation.
The AGF Made this known in an exclusive interview with Control TV in Abuja the Nation’s capital in commemoration of Nigeria’s 60th anniversary.
Prior to the implementation of [TSA] the Federal Government had used several fragmented accounts for government revenues, incomes and receipts, which in the recent past has brought about loss or leakages of legitimate income meant for the federation account.
However, with the TSA been a set of linked bank accounts, The Federal government transacts all its receipts and payments and gets a consolidated view of its cash position at any given time. This development has saved a lot of income and also limited the cost of charges from the Central Bank as COT.
Speaking on the Reform of the Treasury, AGF Ahmed Idris Stated that the Management in charge of the reform has made the Nation Treasury become a world-renown as it has come to be a befitting infrastructure which would make Nigerians Proud.
