Federal government has today sacked the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company (NBET), Marilyn Amo.
Aaron Artimas, Special Adviser to the Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman on Media and Communications, stated that Amobi was removed as part of the realignment of the Power sector.
Marilyn Amo has been immediately replaced by Nnaemeka Ewelukwa, the NBET’s General Counsel and Secretary. According to Aaron Artimas, the decision to remove the managing director was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The new NBET boss Eweluka holds a Bachelors of Law degree from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and a Masters in International Business Law from the London School of Economics. He also holds a PhD from the Queen Mary, University of London with focus on privatization and electricity reform in Nigeria.
