Security expert Captain Aliyu Umar (rtd) has called for proper Intelligence from the DSS saying taking advantage of the success of the #ENDSARS protest to instigate infiltration of light weapons is irresponsible.
Capt Umar said this much and more in a statement made available to Control TV in Lagos. According to him, the DSS and the Government should focus on the issues raised by the protesting youths and not to twist them to paint the Germain youths in bad light as nationsl security threats.
He was responding to the DSS Intelligence Letter In Ogun State.
SEE FULL STATEMENT:
This is Low Grade Intelligence and does not portray our Intelligence Community as Serious Persons at all.
The speed with which this Intelligence is produced lends a lie to it, for one begins to wonder how the same agencies fail pointlessly, consistently, on matters Intelligence, when it matters most to citizens and Nation….
…suddenly, from the blues they know that arms dealers are headed this way?
How come this kind of report was not made ahead of Cattle Rustlers, Kidnappers and Ritualists, insurgents or racists intents and actions?
This is Low Grade Subterfuge with a poorly scripted intent of subverting the protest indeed.
It can only be counter productive, as the Nigerian Youth are by far more Intelligent than Public Office and Security Agencies in Nigeria can even envisage yet.
The Strategic-Intelligence-of -Things remains “what” these simple Minded Report Writters could have harped upon, and worked surreptitiously to preempt, prevent or protect. Alas!
Doung the above suggested, is way better than and more professional than this alarmist, essay…which seems to infer outmoded possibilities for what the world knows is a publicly supported response to the dangerous excesses of a Rogue Police Unit, and its Menbers…the identity of whom not even the IGP is in the mood to disclose?
Let the DSS write Intelligence reports on the CULPRITS…and SARS!
The Letter as released is a poorly scripted attempt to fight Logic, with Low Grade Mindedness.
Arms and ammunition already pervade our land, or are the Militants and Fulani Herdsmen Carrying sticks?
Our DSS is better served to remain quiet in this matter; this kinda letter erodes very seriously, what is left of the savvy, and reckoning (if any) Nigerians have been forced not to have for our public services and office holders.
And I wonder who told the signatory of this piece of literature that the Youth are interested in Guns and Violence…
As we can already see, the youth are primed to teach an insensitive leadership a virtual lesson, on the Cyberway Network called the Internet.
The real battle field is the cyberway…Our lethargic public Officers and agencies are gearing up and even telling lies to justify a use of force to get the protesters of the street.
COVID19 taught these already incensed and frustrated youth how to work from home…
Now they will protest from home…too.
It is only advisable our somewhat little informed, grand standing and highly over confident government and their advisers, do their best to negotiate out of this situation, while the Youth are still visible on the streets, before they disappear and RIOT from their HOMES, on their Laptops, phones and and Devices.
All the Guns and Bullets they need are their Mobile Phones and Data Period.
Our DSS is still thinking in the 80s.
Can someone please tell them this is 2020 earth!
The DSS are here advised to go do their Jobs, and stop hallucinating over a Police Problem…
Intelligence needs to be Intelligent Please.
The Police caused what we call the Boko Haram crisis in the North by Killing Abubakar Yussuf extra Judicially.
Chances are high they have succeeded in causing another crisis in the South and West, and East, via SARS, and same extra Judicial Killings.
Let’s address the real issues and avoid alarmism as decoy for creating fear or reason to impose violent solutions to the problem on our Youth, who are peaceful and unrelenting in their protest and demands.
The DSS report smells of just that.
Meanwhile Protesting Youths have blocked the access road to Akute, Denro- Ishashi, Lambe leading to Ojodu Berger on Sunday 18th October 2020 in continuation of it’s Protest.
